It's not by chance that Lossapardo has made it onto the shortlist for the Prix Joséphine, France's new award for up-and-coming talent. Lossapardo's blend of folk and soul, with songs in English and in French, is a testament to his raw sensitivity, without losing the groove. Born to a West Indian mother and Senegalese father, and raised in France's Seine-et-Marne region, Lossapardo took an early interest in a wide range of artistic media, from painting to music, composition to production. This is reflected in his first album, which features soul, R'n'B, folk and a range of electronic sounds, conveying a melancholy that dates back much further than his 28 years...
